Casandra Aligo

Casandra Aligo knows that numbers tell a story -- and when interpreted thoughtfully, that story can help people live healthier lives. As Director of Analytics for Value-Based Care at Vanova Health, she leads a team of analysts focused on transforming complex healthcare data into meaningful insights that guide smarter care decisions and better outcomes.

She began her career as a senior data analyst at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey where she reviewed medical policy utilization. A skilled SAS programmer, she went on to work for a series of consulting firms on national medical accounts, including most recently completing a nearly 12-year tenure at IBM. She is known for her ability to analyze large datasets and uncover patterns that informed strategic decisions.

Throughout her career, Casandra has built and led analytics teams both in the U.S. and internationally, collaborated with executive leadership, and contributed to product development and testing. She has partnered closely with actuaries, developed deep expertise in healthcare data, and emerged as a subject matter expert in what is now widely recognized as population health analytics.

She was drawn to the opportunity at Vanova to apply her analytics expertise in a more mission-driven environment -- one focused not just on controlling costs, but on improving patients’ real-world health outcomes. Today, her work centers on coaching her team, translating data into actionable narratives, and helping independent physicians and payors understand what the numbers truly mean for their patients and communities.

Casandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. Bonaventure University and an MBA from Dowling College. Her ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable strategies -- combined with her dedication to improving real-world health outcomes -- positions her as a driving force behind Vanova’s value-based care efforts.
